Lactation Support in Norwalk, CT

Lactation Support in Norwalk, CT

Sometimes, breastfeeding doesn't feel as “natural” as everyone says — and that’s okay.

If breastfeeding is harder than you expected, you’re not alone — truly. At TLC Pediatrics, we know that even the most determined moms sometimes feel like their baby missed the “latch memo.” That’s where we come in.  APRN Alicia Zeidan has pursued additional training in lactation science, offering calm, compassionate guidance to help you and your baby find your rhythm — and maybe even enjoy the journey.

What to Expect

During your visit, we’ll take the time to learn about you and your baby — your health, pregnancy, and any challenges so far. We’ll check your baby’s weight, observe feeding, and look at everything from positioning and latch to milk supply and comfort. If needed, we’ll gently adjust technique or positioning to make feeding more effective (and a lot less painful). You’ll leave with a clear plan, written notes, and ongoing support — because babies don’t always follow “office hours”!  And if you need extra reassurance, our team is just a phone call away.

You’re Doing Better Than You Think

Breastfeeding can be beautiful, but it can also be messy, unpredictable, and emotional — and that’s completely normal. Whether you’re struggling with latching, milk supply, or bottle refusal, we’ll meet you with understanding and real solutions. We may also suggest joining our newborn classes or local supports like La Leche League, where you can connect with other parents who get it (and probably have a burp cloth on their shoulder too).

At TLC Pediatrics, we care about you as much as your baby. Because a healthy, confident mom is the best thing for a growing baby — and we’re here to help you both thrive.

Reasons to consider an appointment for lactation support include:
  • Trouble with latch or painful latching
  • Low milk supply
  • Poor weight gain in your infant or weight loss
  • Breast pain and/or infection
  • Refusal to take the breast or increased fussiness
  • Bottle refusal
  • You have a baby with special needs (e.g. premature infants; multiples)
